Examples: gabapentin, pregabalin

Indications: epilepsy, neuropathic pain

Dosing: BID for pregabalin, TID for gabapentin

Adverse Effects:

-drowsiness

-ataxia

-nystagmus

-ankle swelling

-weight gain

Drug Interactions:

-additive drowsiness with other CNS depressants

-antacids may decrease gabapentin absorption: wait 2 hours in between
